Hello Boy Scout Leaders: please call the Great Alaska Council Office to register your unit for Frostbite (preferably ask for Mike, 337-9547--or send an email to Mike msaunders@bsamail.org).
The cost of the event will be $25.00 per person. That price includes the 2010 Frostbite beanie (cap) and a patch (from the Canadians). Saturday's lunch (while everyone's digging) is also included.
What's not included: burger feed Friday night (19 March) at the Elk's--$10.00.
We are also planning a pizza meal on Monday afternoon, 22 March, before getting back on the ferry. Plan on $5.00 per person for the pizza and we need to know how many people will be eating--as some are headed to Whitehorse, and catching a later ferry.
There will be some entertainment Friday evening--a movie at the Elks.
Karl is contacting the NPS to see if there are some opportunities for the extra time Friday afternoon and Monday afternoon.
The Rec center has a $5.00 cover charge that includes sports and showers.
We may have a service project opportunity in Skagway (at the Elk's or around town), while we are staging for the event and waiting for the ferry.
There are only a few good-quality fire rings in Skagway. Bring your own fire ring and firewood.
Your unit is responsible for every meal--except those listed above: Friday night, Saturday lunch, and Monday Pizza.
